I'd try other brands. Buy small packs of a few and see how they go.

@Mrs. Oatmeal: he also moved up very quickly to size 2 and then size 3. But his growth has plateaued now. I need to buy some more big boxes but am hesitant to buy size 3 and then have extra diapers.

@Tanjowen: he has a short, wide butt, so the elastic back band of the Huggies provides a better fit around the waist. He was in pampers for size 1 and 2 and he kept giving me the plumber's butt crack. Which is scary with newborn poop

I don't know if you are willing to switch diaper brands, but I feel that Pampers fit my LO a little looser and the Huggies are snug. We have been in Pampers size 3 since about 5 months (my LO was 19 lb.s at his 6 month appointment).

We moved from size 2 to size 3 pretty quickly- I think she was maybe 14lbs when we moved to size 3. But we've been in size 3 for the last 6 months at least.
Can you alternate? Maybe do size 3 at night when he's (probably) not pooping but you need a better fit?

So my 5 month old weighed in at 16 lbs two weeks ago. He was wearing size 3 Huggies but he kept leaking poop up his back and they felt a little snug. I tried size 4 but sometimes poop leaks down the leg holes because they gape a little.

Size 3 weight range starts at 16 lbs and size 4 at 22 lbs. is it too early to move up to size 4? Anyone else move up a size well before their LO hit the low end of the weight range?
