Can you call your doctor and explain what's been going on and mention that you were told it was likely a virus and see what their advice is? I think ~4 days of diarrhea and occasional vomiting might make them want to bring him in even if they originally thought it was viral. </p> <p>Trust your mother's intuition. I was told to do pedialyte in addition to breastmilk/brat diet to help replace the electrolytes. Diarrhea can linger in babies. C caught norovirus while we were in Florida. The vomiting stopped within 24 hours, but the diarrhea lasted about 7-8 days. I was told to stick to the BRAT diet, and to bring him in if he's not drinking. I took him to emerg (because of the procedure) and he vomited on the way there and while waiting. The doc checked him out and said he seemed totally fine and that it was very possible he picked up a virus while at the hospital on Wednesday.</p> <p>He has had diarrhea all day, every day since Friday and he threw up again today but doesn't have a fever. </p> <p>I don't really know what to do next. He's been clingy and lethargic since Friday and the Diarrhea is driving me crazy. He's not eating like his normal self, but he is drinking a lot of fluids which is keeping me happy. </p> <p>I guess I want to know at what point do I take him back in? how concerned about this should I be? </p>
