DD2 has been slower so far. DD1 was already rolling back to tummy by this point. She is also less vocal than her big sister was.

yes true for us - she hit them all about 2-3 weeks earlier

Not a physical milestone but the only thing she fell behind in was PTing - took her 2 months longer than DS

@lady grey: LOL very very true! But once she's mobile it will be even morr fun to see the sibling interactions. ;)

@regberadaisy: I only have one LO and he was rolling and sitting by 6 months, but didn't pull up to standing until 12 mo and didn't walk until 16 mo. I was so stressed about his late development of gross motor skills. But by 18 mo you really couldn't tell him apart from any other kid his age. I should have enjoyed the longer non-mobile phase more!

Some faster, but all mostly slower. Chloe was doing things like rolling over the day she was born! Charlotte is sitting up better at 5m than Chloe was, though, and is enjoying food more at this age than Chloe did. But, Chloe was crawling at 3m and speed crawling at 6m and Charlotte can't even get even legs in a crawling position yet.

No. LO2 was also 3 weeks early, so I feel like that had an impact, especially for some of the first milestones. That said, she has many more words now than LO1 did at the same age.

Yes and she was in early intervention for physical development too! She has always been more active, even in womb, than her brother and she hit most physical milestones, crawling, walking, running, crawling stairs, and jumping before him. Not by a ton, a month maybe for some of them, but overall she has done well I think having him as an example to watch and tempt her into moving more to keep up with him

@regberadaisy: do you get annoyed with those comments? they are really starting to annoy me. lol

Nope! DD was so content and happy to watch her big brother and DS loved entertaining her and bringing her toys. She didn't have much motivation to figure out how to move. :silly:

DS2 has been much slower. He was able to sit up steadily between 7-8 months. He rolled at around that same time. But honestly doesn't do it much. At 9 months he still isn't crawling or saying mama or dada. Big bro rolled at 4 months, crawled between 6-7 months, and was pulling up by 9 months. I'm not worried either. It's really true that all babies are different.

So you constantly hear that your second will reach milestones earlier than your first. Was this true for you?

I feel like #2 is reaching physical milestones much slower! DD 1 was rolling by 5.5 months. By 6m she pulled up and sat unassisted. #2 has rolled tummy to back a handful of times but not consistently. She can sit up unassisted in her bouncer but not on the floor. No where near pulling up!
I was looking forward to starting solids in 2 weeks but not if she can't sit unassisted yet!

And just curious, not worried. ;)
