I had acupuncture in conjunction with herbs and love that combination. I have PCOS and never ovulated or had periods until I started acupuncture. I got pregnant twice first try and once fourth try (after miscarriage). Made a world of difference to us.

After trying to get pregnant for 4 months I decided to go to an acupuncturist to help with stress/anxiety and fertility, just so I felt like I was doing something to help myself even though I don't have any known fertility problems.

I had 2 appointments last month and found out I was pregnant about 10 days after my second appointment! I'm not sure if it actually played a role, but I feel like it could have. I'm now 6 weeks pregnant.

She didn't help me get pregnant with my IUIs but I think her reducing my anxiety during the whole infertility process helped me with my IVF journey. The stress relief even helped me during my pregnacy, too.

I'm not TTC anymore but I am starting to get anxiety and stress again and I'm going back to her today. I was happy to hear that I didn't have to have fertility issues to see her again. I really do look forward to her sessions.

Definitely go to someone who specializes in fertility. I saw my acupuncturist after 10 months of trying and then through my IUI and IVF cycles. Felt really nice to have someone else on my team and that I was actively doing what I could to get my body to cooperate. I vividly remember before my IVF egg retrieval, she gave my right ovary a little extra love with the needle and I felt an unreal zingy sensation down there. That was the cycle I conceived. Not to mention, the stress reduction was well worth it!

It helps me with cramps and flow. My cramps without accupuncture are bad enough I can't work sometimes and they make nauseous. Also without accupuncture my flow is heavy and thick and dark with clots. There is usually brown blood at the beginning and end which means there is old blood from last cycle (YUCK!). With accupuncture cramps are bearable, no brown blood, flow is medium no clots (lining and clots are different things), and normal reddish/orange color and watery texture. Plus the sessions are the best sleep ever!

after 6 months of very long cycles(40-60 days) I went to acupuncture to help shorten them and for fertility purposes. I went once a week through the whole cycle, and not only was it shorter, but I got pregnant that cycle! plus, it was really relaxing and I'd fall asleep on the table each week.

I was trying for #3 for 8 cycles and then started acupuncture. The next cycle I O'd 3 days earlier then normal and got pregnant that cycle. So yes, I believe that it did contribute to getting pregnant.

My first pregnancy, we weren't trying, but I wasn't on any birth control for 1.5 years and we weren't careful at all. We started trying, and I was going to acupuncture for help with stress. I got pregnant that cycle ( we had been actively trying for only 2 cycles.) I don't know if it helped, but it was the only thing I had done different ( aside from charting for my second month.)

My middle pregnant I got pregnant right away, and wasn't receiving any acupuncture at that point.

After my m/c, I went for anxiety reduction. After a few months, I asked him to "add in" fertility acupuncture. Pregnant two weeks later with DS2.

I got pregnant on my first cycle after starting acupuncture with DD (I'd had a chemical pregnancy and then tried for 5 months with no luck).
This time I went a few months before TTC because my cycle was off due to extreme stress and anxiety. I got pregnant our first cycle trying. May be coincidence, but I think the stress reduction and feeling like I was doing something proactive helped me mentally.

I think it was super helpful after my m/c helping my body reset and balance again.

It's been hugely helpful first tri with both my pregnancies for morning sickness and again towards the end for general comfort. I think it also helped get labor going with my first.

I am a big believer.

I started going weekly/ bi-weekly after we were getting close to a year of TTC. I will never know 100% for sure if it contributed to my pregnancy, but soon after starting I started O'ing earlier (CD14 instead of CD16-19), my periods were less clotty, and I started at least having some CP's. Finally, one stuck and I have a healthy 4 month baby boy.

I did it after my m/c before getting pregnant with baby 2, I'm not sure if it contributed to my bfp, but it certainly helped with my emotional state. I was breaking down every 2ww, and having an appointment to go to gave me something tangible to do during that time.

I definitely think it helped. I had very long, irregular cycles and was not ovulating. The first month I went to a fertility acupuncturist, I got pregnant. Full disclosure: it was also my second cycle on Clomid, but I definitely think the combination of acupuncture and Clomid did the trick. I'm 31 weeks now and have done acupuncture the whole time. Who knows if it's due to acupuncture, but I've had a super easy stress-free pregnancy so far (knock on wood).

@wheres_c: wow!! amazing.

I didn't do it while TTC, I only got it in the first tri, and it felt more like a spa treatment to me ("I'm doing this nice thing for myself") than actually beneficial to supporting the pregnancy. but who knows :)

I'm curious how many people have tried acupuncture and found it beneficial in resolving issues with their cycle/TTC, or just otherwise useful for general well-being...

(I tried it once and the therapist wasn't very good - I may try it again somewhere else, though.)
