And they were actually the ones who originally told us not to commit to a stash before she was born (after we'd already bought the rental). We had a NB BumGenius 4.0 rental that didn't fit, then did their "experiment to own" program when she hit 12 lbs and tried like 6 different brands of OS AIOs. NONE OF THEM FIT! She was just toooo lean. I would strongly advise against getting a huge stash until you know what kind of body type your LO will have!</p> <p>Short version: we had a newborn cloth rental that we used twice (after paying for it) and returned them a month early. Then we went to go buy our 'selected' OS diaper - and they didn't fit LO either. I didn't really worry about preemie sizes. The GMDs say the newborn fitteds fit preemie to 11lbs, so I figure we're probably good. If he needs preemie sizes I guess we'll just use disposables longer (I intended to stop after meconium was gone), or rush some prefolds or something. I like the hybrid systems like Flips. I'm thinking most of diapers will be pockets and only a few AIOs because of the drying time. As for prefolds, I don't know if I will love them or hate them so I'm willing to try them out during the newborn phase and go from there. I have a feeling DH will want to use the AIO or the pockets because it will be easier for him.</p> <p>Oh, also, I heard you can use the newborn prefolds as doublers later on. </p> <p>I guess I decided against fitted newborn diapers because I didn't want to invest in that many sizes for such a short amount of time. </p> <p>But who knows what I'll like and what my future baby will fit.</p> <p>ETA: These are the brands I'm looking at Lil Joey's for AIO newborn diapers. It seems like everyone has very specific wants/preferences when it comes to CDing. Personally I wanted a diaper than contained messes well and could go in the dryer. Oh and I knew I did NOT want to stuff pockets. Doesn't seem to bother most people though. I ended up going with mostly fitteds and covers. Majority of the covers are Thirsties and I have a bunch of fitteds - mostly GMD, but some Thirsties, Swaddlebees and Bamboozles thrown in.
