I am just not sleeping well in general. I am very tired but then I wake up a million times a night.

I was an awful sleeper while pregnant. I think early on it was hormones and crazy dreams, and later it was being uncomfortable, having to go to the bathroom, etc. Near the end I would regularly wake up at something like 4am and not be able to sleep again. So that stuff about "sleep while you can" was not applicable for me!

I'm not sure if I was a lighter sleeper, or just kept waking up because I had to pee, but I was up many times a night. I actually had an easier time falling back to sleep than I used to, though.

I definitely think it helps prepare you for waking up with the baby though. The first few weeks, she would make the tiniest sound and my eyelids would fly open like, "BABY'S UP!!!!"

I haven't become a light sleeper but I've become a person who has a harder time getting back to sleep. I used to sleep like a champ regardless of getting woken up, and now I often have trouble getting back to sleep after my 2nd or 3rd pee break of the night.

I've never been a particularly heavy sleeper, but I've noticed the last couple weeks that I wake up very easily at every little sound. I wonder if it's my body preparing to wake up when I hear baby?
Did anyone else notice this?
