@GreenThumb: The solids poop doesn't always solidify forever. It may be "ploppable" for a while, but it's normal for it to return to a softer state. Just a heads up... I didn't realize that for a while.

@MamaCate: Glad to hear 3 days worked out for you. We seem to be ok with having enough dipes, I just may need more cloth wipes!

@JoJoGirl: I just told my SO about the liners last night and he was all for it. DD is getting that awful sticky poo after starting solids for about a week, so I think liners might be the way to go for us and soon!

@sandy: Thanks for the suggestion. And congrats on potty training!!

@swurlygurl: I'm hoping we get to the solid poo soon. We are still in the gross sticky stage and it is awful!

Me! My daughter has been increasing her 'potty awareness' for the last 6 months or so (26 months now). Early in that process she got very aware of the feeling of wetness with cloth, and started refusing them. I didn't push it because I was sick of them too. We'll do it again for another baby, but man, those solids poops are so gross. I do not miss that.

@autumnlove: Elementals, Blueberry Simplex, GMD prefolds/fitteds, and Babee Greens Fitteds. Elementals 95% of the time though. AIOs are just too easy for toddlers that don't want to stay still on the changing table.

@lovehoneybee: this is exactly why we quit (but at 7ish months.) plus, we just got too comfortable using the disposables while battling the yeast infection.

i'm on the fence about trying again if/when we have another lo...

We kind of did. LO is 17 months and we were having some BG stink issues. While I was stripping them he was in sposies and then we went on vacation and since we've been back I have been sending sposies to childcare and using cloth Fri-Sun when I am home. I'm ok with it. It is way less work - only one diaper wash a week on Sunday night!

For #2 I'll prob buy cotton inserts though - I really dislike the microfiber.

As for us, I'm close to quitting. We've been battling a reoccuring diaper rash/yeast infection since EARLY JULY! I've done everything I can think of but it keeps coming back whenever he's in the cloth.

@T.H.O.U.: @Beyond2: @Dagny: BG microfiber inserts are the worst! I ended up switching totally to cotton diapers only. I feel like they're easier to clean, and they're nicer to LO's booty.

Maybe buying diapers will be incentive for us to try potty training earlier! I think DH will give me a hard time about it, but he certainly prefers disposables.

@GreenThumb: We use Grovia diaper liners and they are a godsend! Especially for the icky starting-solids-poo that doesn't plop off.. we just flush the poo in the liner and our diapers almost never even have poo on them anymore.

@Beyond2: @Dagny: Thats around when I noticed the issues with my BG and nothing I did would fix it (we have hard water but I accounted for that). In the end I can only assume the BG inserts are just cheap because my other inserts were fine (thirstie, organic cotton, and CB microfiber).

@Dagny: That's about when our problems started too :-/ I've tried everything I can. Stripping, bleach, dawn, vinegar, bumgenius detergent, tide detergent, using more detergent, using less detergent, bac out, washing more often, sunning, using the dryer, an extra rinse (3 total), even getting a water softener hooked up (although we had been wanting this anyways)! At almost 15 months though we're still dealing with stink issues. I think I'll take @T.H.O.U. advice though and check out new liners. I planned to use these diapers for future kids so it'd be worth the investment.

I'm only 6 months into CD and while I'm not quite ready to give up, the washing is wearing on me. I'm going to try to stretch to every three days instead of every other. I'm also a bit scared of the poop factor! We've EBF until just recently and I'm dreading the change.
@T.H.O.U.: Thanks for the info on the inserts. We actually deal with leaks overnight sometimes and have stuffed an additional bamboo liner in with our BGs, but it still doesn't always do the trick.

I think its just the BG brand microfiber because I had no issues with my Charlie Banana microfiber inserts.
