I've heard of people doing that, don't know if it works everywhere. That's such a low blow from the insurance company. I gave birth in a birth centre and will probably go back for #2. Is that an option? It has the feel of a home birth but I don't think you could be billed twice there? The other option would maybe be keeping an eye on position and transferring before you go into labour if things are looking bad. LO was in the correct position until 38 weeks and I could tell she had turned. </p> <p>The idea of going through the same labour terrifies me but I did it once, I can do it again. Not only emotionally and physically, but financially. Our friend has the same insurance as us, and she got hit twice after she had to transfer to the hospital - they got billed 50% for the home birth, and then 100% for her c-section bc her insurance said they already paid for her birth. I had a vaginal birth with a episiotomy.
