(But I have been a little secluded on maternity leave) I get the shot every year, since I work in an elementary school. In my six years of teaching, I have only gotten the flu once. It was still horrible even without the shot! A few weeks ago I got super sick and swore I had the flu and I didn't. While I was at the clinic I meant to get the shot but I was so sick I didn't even remember when I walked out of there. I was kicking myself in the butt for not getting the shot because it was AWFUL! My Dr said 40% of people who get the shot still get the flu. The vaccine is all about what strains they "guess" will be prevalent in a given year, and apparently they were wrong this year!
