i've had insomnia my whole life. i took a lot of unisom during both pregnancies not only to help with the nausea, but also because i had insomnia.

i'm a better sleeper in that i can nap and doze off post baby, but i still have trouble falling asleep at night. i think i always will.

Yes! I don't have a baby yet, but even now I wake up 2-3 times a night and it can take an hour or two to fall back asleep. It drives me insane! DH woke up this morning for work at 3:30 and I don't think I fell back asleep until 5:00. Then I woke up again around 7:00.

I slept just the same after DS was born. This pregnancy though, I have really been struggling with insomnia!

I actually slept better after my LO was born! I always had insomnia problems and would only get a few hours of sleep at night. I would have a hard time getting to sleep and I could never stay asleep but when she was born I would go to sleep pretty fast and sleep til it was time to fee her again.

I had the hardest time sleeping for the first 7 months of LO's life. Now, at 8.5months pp, I sleep wonderfully!!
I know that LO sleeps from 7pm-8am roughly, so I've been sleeping between 9-10:30pm and I wake up when she wakes up. :)

Me! I struggle with anxiety so often when I lay down at night my mind races with worry and I have a hard time shutting it off to fall asleep. My husband always falls asleep the second his head hits the pillow. Sometimes it makes me want to slap him : )

If you ask a new mom what is the one thing they miss the most about pre-baby life, chances are you're going to get some kind of answer regarding "sleep." Someone once told me that when you become a mom, you never ever sleep the same again.

But for me, it's partially true. Yes, I sleep even worse now that I have my daughter. But truth be told, I was NEVER a good sleeper to begin with. I struggled with issues of insomnia since my high school days. When I was pregnant, I actually took ambien a few times to help me sleep. I hated to, but I knew it was the only way I could get some shut eye. I took it probably twice.

I'm so jealous of DH, because he can fall asleep anywhere, doing anything.

Does anyone else struggle with insomnia pre-baby ??!
