My friend has this (early too) and it was exactly how you described it. Ask your OB for something to help with the itching!

I had it also but mine started right when I hit 7 months. I was absolutely miserable the rest of my pregnancy. Mine flared up when I got hot (which was all the time since I had a summer baby in Texas) or when anything, like a shirt or bed sheets, touched my belly. I found relief in oatmeal baths, using Grandpa's PIne Tar soap (up to 3 times a day!) drinking lots of V8 juice, and applying Caladryl (doc approved)...I tried everything Dr. Google told me to try. My OB told me to stay inside and out of the sun as much as possible so I took her advice and basically laid on the couch in my underwear and sports bra since nothing could touch my stomach without a full blown itch attack.

I hope your diagnosis is wrong but if it isn't, I did experience immediate relief once I had my daughter. And the chances of it happening again during anymore pregnancies are slim!

One more thing...my doctor did prescribe some sleeping medicine so it wouldn't keep me up at night which was really great.

agh! thanks for the replies, everyone...I showed my mom and she goes, "that looks like chicken pox!" I've had chicken pox before, though, and it's not all over me. sigh. I'll be calling the doctor first thing tomorrow I suppose!

@sorrycharlie: I had it. It was aweful. I went to the doctor and had to get medicine and do bloodwork (to rule out everything else) The medicine didn't work for me but oatmeal baths and keeping my skin lathered with lotion helped the most.

I had an itchy rash on my belly throughout most of the last half of my pregnancy, but I don't think it was PUPPP.

I had it during 3rd trimester. I don't think it's limited to then but most people tend to have it then.... Mine disappeared within a week. I didn't want to take steroids, so I just put cool damp cloths on my belly to help with the itchiness.

@sorrycharlie: I had a rash on my belly AFTER i had my baby. I scratched and scratched and I think some of my skin died. HAHA. :P Not funny.. but funny. I have small patches of dark skin on my belly now. Rash is finally gone after I treated it with cream.

@chopsuey119: ah sorry, lol that's the worst! it stands for something long and ridiculous, but it basically looks like chicken pox on the belly. the google articles i read said some think its a result of belly expanding quickly..which more often happens in third tri, but i just popped this week, so I'm wondering if that's a culprit. sigh.

So I'm only going to be 19 weeks Tuesday, but last week a few little red bumps popped up on my belly.

They were itchy, but not awful - I thought maybe they were little pimples or something. Now, 1+ week later, I have many, many more. They start as high as my bra band, and as low as the linea negra, and from side to side. I have one or two on my stretch marks on my inner thighs, too (sorry if that's weird!). SO ITCHY OMG.

I thought at first my mom's animals had fleas, because I housesat last week - but, they do not, and I only have these bumps on belly (and inner thigh stretch marks). My dog also does not have fleas (I just checked!). Hubs doesn't have any "bites" or "marks" and mine are only in the one spot.

I googled and found PUPPP - but it says it appears in third tri. Am I just lucky enough to get it early? I'm going to call my doctor on Monday, but wanted to see if anyone had any insight.
