I am going to chart after baby to prevent another pregnancy too soon... but honestly I don't know how religious I will be about it. We know we want another one and with my endo, I feel like I can't be too picky on when to get pregnant... I will take what my body gives me!

Besides, sex is just way to fun. I can't imagine waiting the six weeks they say you are supposed to wait after giving birth. I guess I'll feel different once I am there though...

I don’t think long term abstinence would be very healthy for a marriage. ;-)
I do totally get what you are saying though about not wanting a second pregnancy/LO until YOU are totally ready. Luckily, there are lots of birth control options available these days, so I’m sure your OB can help you find something you are 100% comfortable and confident with.

Are you breastfeeding or bottle feeding?

I'd suggest getting a thermometer for charting your bbt and practicing fertility awareness. Most women are only fertile for a few days out of their cycle, so there's no need to lock down your privates like they're liable to explode with babies at every moment. :)

Abstinence? What's that? Hahaha jk
We just let nature take its course and got preggers with #2 12 months pp! I'd definitely chart or do something if you wanna prevent getting pregnant.

No. I'm open to having another baby asap though, so I'm not too worried about it. But we still do use multiple forms of birth control anyway until we decide to TTC.

The 8-ish weeks we waited after the birth was long term to my husband ;)
Really, I just wanted to send you some support, it is hard to get back in the saddle again. I honestly could have waited a lot longer, but I felt bad for him, so once I got on the mini pill, well, you know. It was better than I expected, a little different, but not uncomfortable for me.

I could never do that to my husband haha but I've considered it, just because that's how much I really don't want another baby at this time in my life.

It's been 9.5 weeks since I had my son, and we still haven't DTD yet, we've been doing "other stuff" to keep each other satisfied - partly because I just don't feel ready yet and partly because I like the assurance it gives me that I can't possibly get pregnant while I have a two month old baby! But I know it won't be much longer til we resume normal sexual activity.

Did anyone ever practice abstinence as a long-term birth control?
