With the 2nd pregnancy, we went public at around 8 weeks. I kind of felt like I had to because that week fell on a bachelorette weekend for a wedding I was in, and I felt bad saying I couldn't do anything (clubbing/drinking... parasailing... wine tasting). We told DH's family at just over 7 weeks, because it was Xmas, we were all together, and it was obvious by how much I was sleeping/turning down alcohol. I had a prior MC and I was terrified of losing another one so I needed my mama! We told my ILs and our siblings and some close friends after the first ultrasound at 8 weeks. My OBGYN told me to share the great news! I told a few close friends after that ultrasound. Then I saw my mom on her birthday when I was about 6-7 weeks and told her and my family that was there. My dad started texting neighbors so lots of people knew then. Several people at my husband's job had decided I was pregnant bc someone had dreamed it and then they all decided I looked different so we told them at 9 weeks after we had an ultrasound and heard the heartbeat and then I called a few more friends. I didn't want to try and hide what was going on. I did end up miscarrying that weekend and I was glad I had let my parents know what was going on.</p> <p>My philosophy is that I'm fine with telling anyone that I would also tell about a MC. One thing that's stuck with me, is telling people you would want to know if anythig happened. We probably will tell my parents immediately. We also wanted to get through the NT scan, as there are some abnormalities (like genetic mutations that result in near immediate death after being born) that we would have terminated the pregnancy for. Waited to announce on Facebook until after the anatomy scan so that we could be sure everything was healthy and developing normally. </p>
