We started pretty easy with signs for more, all done, milk, eat, mommy and daddy. Later on, we added a bunch more verbs (play, potty, snow, etc...), some conversational words (please, thank you) and a lot of animals. DD probably knows 35 or more words, although she mostly talks now.
