Nope, we started weaning from formula onto cows milk at 11 months. After she turned a year, she was getting 2 bottles of milk a day (because she wouldn't drink it from a sippy). Our ped told us 16-20oz of whole milk a day.

My understanding is that toddler formula is not necessary for the average kid...more of a special case thing as recommended by your ped for nutritional deficiencies, a super picky kid, health conditions, etc. We just replaced formula with cows milk. I think you could do that with your morning and night bottles - try mixing formula and milk until it's eventually all milk.

That said, we do keep a can of toddler formula in our emergency kit, since it can be easier to find water for mixing formula than refridgeration for milk.

My LO is 11 months and eating 2-3 solid meals a day. Usually cheerios for breakfast, fruit and chicken for lunch, then whatever we eat at dinner. He doesn't eat much in quantity some days.

He probably still takes about 4 x 8oz formula. 2 when we wake up, and 1-2 before bed. Any other time if I notice he's hungry, I offer solids.

I introduced organic cows milk and he drinks about 4oz x day.

I'm wondering what to do as we hit the 1 year mark. I will definitely try to increase the cows milk (and probably coconut milk).

Should I switch to toddler formula for the AM/PM bottles? Should I stop formula cold turkey?
What to do, what to do?

If you used toddler formula, can you explain why you made the choice?
