My LO did. My pediatrician recommended what I though was pretty aggressive iron supplementation, but it was back to normal in three weeks. It is pretty common.

We just found out our 12 month old is mildly anemic. Ped recommended drops and retest at 15 months. She didn't sound concerned so I'm trying not to worry. DD is a grat eater (even with iron rich foods) so I was surprised.

We did at 12mo, and added an iron supplement. He was totally normal by 15 mo.

My oldest drinks tons of soy milk and loves soy yogurt so we trade off with iron supplements and vitamin c rich foods. My oldest loves oranges! Neither one of my boys are big on juices.

@MrsKoala: @MrsRcCar: Thanks for the replies! I was so worried my daughter was the only one. I've been trying to beef up her iron rich foods and rice cereal intake.
@Mrs Green Grass: Thanks for the tip on vitamin C and dairy. I didn't know that. I'm hoping when we go back for her next checkup her levels are up.

One thing that we did is limit dairy after nap until dinner. We give the drops right after nap and try to get him to take some juice or eat some high vit C foods. (Dairy inhibits iron absorption and vit C aids it.)

Both of my kids have low iron. My oldest finally at 2 has just barely normal iron with supplements. My youngest has a level of 8.4 and isn't tolerating the supplement well at all. We are just trying to beef up his iron rich foods.

Yep, currently doing iron supplements. I have a history of anemia so not really surprising.

At my LO's 9 month check up, her hemoglobin level was low. The doctor recommended iron supplement drops. Did anyone else's baby have this issue?
