Yep. My LO did the same. He rolled tummy to back then stopped doing it for a while. I always thought it was because he gained too much weight and couldn't do it anymore!

Our LO did this--he rolled from belly to back around 10 or 11 weeks and after a week or so he just stopped. Around 18 weeks he started rolling back to belly and now he rolls both ways, all over the place. He just wasn't even trying for a while, though. I think it is totally normal!

@Cherrybee: Ugh, yes... Thankfully she didn't roll *too* much in her sleep. I did have to swaddle wean though, which was the most annoying part

Yes! With rolling! Then several months later he started doing it like a pro. I thought he was just stubborn and wanted help ;)

@swurlygurl: NOOOO! So even though she rolled front to back first, you still ended up with the baby-rolls-onto-tummy-in-crib-and-has-to-be-rescued-ten-times-a-night situation.

@illumina: Aaaaaaw, I'm sorry, :heart:

Once DD learned how to roll back to stomach, she forgot how to roll stomach to back - it was cracking me up. Crazy girl - you were doing it for months!

Silly babies :)

I'm not particularly worried - more amused, really.

DD started rolling front to back at about 11 weeks. She rolled regularly for about 10 days and became really good at it - she even manged to roll back to front once. What a clever girl!!! We had to swaddle wean early because she was such a champ!

Then one day she woke up and she couldn't roll any more!!! She just face planted and cried!! This has now been going on for a couple of weeks! She wriggles about, huffs and puffs and then - splat - face down on the mat!! She has completely forgotten how to do it!!!

Has this happened to anyone else? Like I say, I'm not worried..,, it's just... bizarre!
