@mrs bunchy: Good to know. Maybe next cycle, I'll request a CD21 blood draw no matter what my temps show. They definitely are having me wait until CD 30 to see if AF arrives or I get a positive HPT just in case I did ovulate within the 5-10 window and my temps just aren't reflecting it, before I start the Provera to induce the next cycle.

@sarahnicole218: I used to chart, but my dr said to throw that out. Yes, the blood draw DOES confirm ovulation. =) So, I guess even though it didn't look like it was happening.. it was!!!

@mrs bunchy: That is good know! Your blood draw confirms that ovulation DID happen correct? Or do you get blood drawn to confirm ovulation WILL happen? In the past, when I have ovulated naturally, I can always clearly see the temperature shift, so I think that's why they aren't ordering any blood draws at this point. I was instructed to call back if I DO confirm ovulation before CD 30. So I now have a 9 day countdown..yay! ;-)

@mrs bunchy: Thank you for sharing your experience. Unfortunately, they were only going to do the blood draw and ultrasound if I confirmed ovulation, since I chart. I have not confirmed that I have ovulated and I guess they're taking my word for it. They did say they would allow me to move onto a second cycle of Clomid, at 100mg this time, but would definitely do an ultrasound later in my next cycle, whether I ovulate or not, to make sure my lining is not thinning.

I don't know, now I'm kind of worried that they didn't want to see me! I'm confused also because the last ultrasound I went in for, I end up consulting with a different doc than my normal since my doc was off that day. And when they called me today, they told me that the new doc was the one who gave them the go ahead to order me the next dose rather than the doctor I was seeing. I don't know, it's one of those "groups" so maybe that's normal.

P.S. Boy Meets World is my all-time favorite sitcom, I want to go home and watch now!

@mrs bunchy: I'm just throwing this out there, and it's only based on my pieced together logic, google-knowledge, and sort-of experience (5 months on Clomid)... could the lower progesterone be a sign that the Clomid is thinning your lining? If that's the case, I'd talk to your doctor about switching to Femara. My RE told me I should switch after 5 cycles on Clomid.

I have been bumped up from 50mg-100mg. With 50mg I would have "almost" mature follicles and my CD21 progesterone draw always fell a little short. I have been on 100mg for 3 months now. The first and second month I had amazing progesterone levels (dr wants above 15 to confirm ovulation) and would have mature follicles. However, this month I just got my CD21 draw back and it was 15.3. I know you're thinking .. That's over 15- but last month it was over 30!!! What is going on?? Why is it decreasing?? I didn't get an u/s this month so I am unsure of what was going on in there. I'm started to get a little down about all of this and having to move on to RE. (I think my ob will chat about it next visit).

To keep my mind off of all this.. Boy meets world re-runs it is!! The more I think, the more I drive myself crazy and cry for no reason..

@Mrs. Jump Rope: I echo this. Ultrasound and blood work is really important to know what is going on. Just upping the dosage isn't the solution.

Clomid did not work for me b/c it thinned out my lining. I did ovulate a few days earlier than normal.

@sarahnicole218: I did not respond to 50mg Clomid, but I did with 100mg (had two mature follicles). I've read that OPKs can be unreliable for people with PCOS because your LH is always somewhat elevated.

ETA: Clomid was successful for me in that I ovulated, but I did not get pregnant from it.

@sarahnicole218: are you seeing an RE? You should be getting blood work and ultrasound to confirm a surge.

@Snowdrop: Thank you! :)

I did just get off the phone with the doctor's office. They said at CD 30, take an HPT, if negative, I will start Provera to induce AF. They also sent prescription for Clomd 100mg this time. I guess I'll keep testing with OPKs in the meantime to see if I get any obvious positives. I did order some digitals for the next time around!

Clomid worked at least once but I did not get pregnant while using it. I took 50mg of Clomid twice. The first time I took it was the end of a 140 day cycle, but I did ovulate in a timely manner (as seen by temps) and had a 10 day LP.

My next cycle I took 50mg Clomid again. At the end of the cycle I wasn't sure if I ovulated CD19 or CD24... I got a positive OPK on CD18 and then what looked like a sustained temp rise for a few days, then a huge dip and then other rise on CD25. I'm thinking I O'd CD24 because that would have put my LP at 11 days (closer to the 10 I had before). Temps were not super clear though.

I also have PCOS.

Ok ladies, I'm coming to you in desperation in hopes that someone out there had a similar experience? Here is a little recap of this cycle so far for me:

CD 1 - Beginning of Cycle #6, but month #10
CD 3 - Begin taking 50 mg Clomid
CD 6 - U/S shows that I have polycystic ovaries and consultation with doctor indicates that this low dose of Clomid may not work for me. BUT we were holding on with hope to the fact that I have ovulated on my own before, just usually really REALLY late in my cycle (like CD60).
CD 8 - Get blood work done, results show that I am not insulin resistant.
CD 10-21 (today) - Continue to get ALMOST positive ovulation tests. Clomid should have made me ovulate by CD 17. I had lots of O symptoms and what I tricked myself into thinking were positive tests on CD 14 and 15, but my temps do not indicate I have ovulated yet.
CD 20 and 21 - I have cramps, extremely sore breasts, a headache, sticky/creamy CM, and another ALMOST positive but still negative OPK (pic below).

I guess my question is did anyone here end up taking Clomid and still ovulating late, outside of the 5-10 day window? Or has anyone had an unsuccessful round of 50mg, but upped the dose and it DID work? Did Clomid mess with your temps at all throughout the cycle?

I just kind of want to know what to expect going forward and if what I've been experiencing this cycle is similar to what anyone else went through.

Thank you!
