@photojane: @Weagle: I did lay down but they didn't immediately stop. All three happened when I was laying down. Once they stopped hurting so much, I continued to lay down and drank almost 20 ounces of water and luckily they didn't come back. I was induced with baby #1 and I never had one BH or natural contraction so I don't know what to compare it to. Thanks for your help!

Drink some water, and lay on your left side. If they go away it was a BH. And I was always told that I would know when it was a real contraction. It was so true. I'm already worried that I've forgotten what it felt like, and I'm not even pregnant again!

Did the pains eventually go away when you were laying down? The difference between a BH and a real contraction, is that BHs will go away with rest, but the real deal only get worse no matter what you do!

All of my real contractions were in the hospital, but I definitely KNEW they were contractions. Ouch.

It was some kind of contraction for sure. BH can feel exactly like regular - just matters whether they escalate and continue. Hope that little one stays put for you and that they stop!

Even though this is my second pregnancy, I don't really remember what a contraction felt like (praise The Lord) and I'm not sure if that is what I am experiencing. I am currently 36 weeks pregnant and have less than three weeks before my schedules repeat c-section but I am on high alert because I am paranoid this kid might try to come early...here is what happened...

I felt an intense pain coming on (this has happened multiple times in the past couple of weeks) so I decided to lay down to ward it off. Well, while I was laying down it felt like my stomach was cramping really tight and that I was getting stabbed down the middle of my stomach. I couldn't breath through it and I was dropping a few curse words (which is out of character for me). It lasted about a minute then faded away but came back about 15 seconds later, lasted a minute or so, faded away and came back.

So, short question long - was that a contraction or a BH or maybe something else? Thanks!
