They'll probably work fine. You can try testing them by pouring in water. Hold your hand under it like a cup, and pour water in slowly. If it seems to repel the water, I would strip it. Note that that isn't a 100% accurate test, but it's quick and will give you an idea if they're repelling. If they don't seem to be, I would probably just wash with my diapers and admire my beautiful prefolds. I've never been one to worry about stains because he's just going to poop on them again tomorrow. I bet the tie dye colors are way prettier than the green splotches left on ours from our son's first food (avocado).

@autumnlove: That's what I was thinking~ haha, Thanks!

@runsyellowlites: Yeah, we stray away from using bleach, so if it doesn't affect how they work I'd rather not go that route. I'll just stick him in the diapers and his Grateful Dead t-shirt and he'll be good to go :P

@T.H.O.U.: That's good to hear!

I guess I'll just rewash them and then try them out and see what happens :)

We're not really ones to use bleach SOOO I'd probably rewash & just strip them. Then see how they worked... Even if stained if just think your lo had awesome tie dyed dipes. Lol

@ZombieBullfrogHoller: Hmmm..I would probably contact customer service for Osocosy.

Sunning my diapers always removed pee and poop stains but I don't think it would work in this situation,

Good luck! :-)

I'm honestly not sure if they are or not :P They're Osocozy(sp?) Indian cotton. Would bleaching them just remove the stains? I guess my concern is it affecting their absorbancy or anything else - if it's just a matter of aesthetics, I'm not so concerned.

Can you bleach them? Are they organic cotton?

So, I accidentally washed a couple of LO's prefold diapers with some tie dyed onsies (which makes me mad on principle alone because I reminded myself like 8 times to take them out to put in a separate load...then again I also put in the detergent and turned on the washer without loading the clothes into the washer and came back 10 minutes later feeling like an idiot - so my head is obviously not all together today :S).

But, anyway, I took out the wash and lo and behold the prefolds are now covered with pink and blue and purple blotches :P I wasn't sure what to do, so I just put them on the line to dry. Did I ruin them? Is there a way to salvage? I'm still such a newb at this cloth diapering thing. Worst case scenario, I can always use them as burp cloths or anything I guess.
