@BKCaribBaby: Don't those have feet though that would not trip them up as well?

@PinkElephant: @Trailmix: Thank you! Will check out grobags! I can't imagine keeping a 6 year old in a sleep sack lol.

Sounds like the general consensus is fairly positive with regard to whether sleep sacks contain the toddlers. I'm hoping mine follows suit!

I don't know if she'd try to get out or not even with the sleep sack. We still use them at 28 months. We use the Halo Extra large cotton ones.

Halo makes up to 5T. They are called Halo Big Kids. I'm also hoping it keeps her from climbing!

Nope. Wagon Jr. used the crib rail like one of those gymnastics bars, hitched himself up vertically, and flipped right over the bar and fell to the ground.

It did stop LMW since she tried to climb by putting one leg over the side.

We still use sleep sacks in an effort to prevent my daughter from climbing out of her crib but we have to put them on backwards so that she doesn't unzip them. The few times we tried to go without the sleep sack, she either climbed into her brother's crib (twins) or flipped herself out completely. Once we went back to the sleep sack, that all stopped so I think it's working. GroBag makes sleep sacks into very large sizes, we are using ones I bought off CL that are for around 5 year olds, I think. A lot of European brands make them in big sizes as well!

@raintreebee: my 33m old son is still in a sleep sack. We use halo extra-large cotton sleep sacks. He is 38" tall and maybe 30-32 lbs. He has yet to climb out of the crib (he's tall and more than able) and usually leaves his sleep sack on. He's always worn them and it's normal for him. He actually still sleeps in a pack n play for naps at my parents' house and doesn't climb out of that either.

Definitely! My DD was in sleep sacks until it got too hot to wear them this summer. She turned 3 about a month ago and even without a sack is very happy in her crib - she tries to climb in, but not out.

Grobag (UK brand) runs huge, and they make 18-36 months size and 3-6 years size. I believe Jojo Maman Bebe does as well.

I think so--she never really tried, anyway. She is still napping and overnight sleeping in sleep sacks at 2 years old. The one we use now is the largest size Halo cotton sleep sack (the lightweight one), and it seems like it will last until winter.

@Mrs. Bee: Ok good to know they make bigger ones. I know he is about to outgrow the Halo XL. I just don't want to deal with toddler bed transition + newborn!

@looch: Eek! That must take so much upper body strength!

Haha, nope. My son vaulted himself out of his crib in his sleepsack.

THey were his sleep cue, though, so we used them for a long time, I had ones well into size 3T.

Hoping the answer is yes! Also, does anyone make sleep sacks for 2-3 year olds?
