I found a noticeable difference with cramps diminishing, and general down there happiness after making the switch.

I found the diva cup to be so much more comfortable then tampons. I didn't notice a difference in cramps but it helped a lot with dryness and general uncomfortableness.

Also I love thinx

@Ra: I don't get squeamish with much of anything ... I mean, if the Diva Cup isn't bad, I think we're good, lol.

@littlejoy: They are not nearly as gross as they sound. I really like them! I have two pairs that I swap out.

@Ra: That's so interesting!! You're the only person I've talked to who has used them (though, I see people sharing about them on FB, etc.) ... I might get a pair to try next month. Thanks so much!

@littlejoy: It absorbs similar to a pad. They don't feel bulky though. Sometimes you have to wipe if there are clots but not often. If you are super heavy you'd probably have to change pairs at some point during the day.

@Ra: I've been so curious, but haven't invested in them yet.

Does the blood just gather in them? Like, if you pull them down, there's just blood there? Do you wipe them out when going to the bathroom?

@littlejoy: Have you tried Thinx? I LOVE them and they'd be a good alternative for the first few days if you want to avoid tampons.

Same as the others, no noticeable difference. Unfortunately, even though I liked the concept, I had to stop using it because it gave me recurring yeast infections, even though I always cleaned it as directed. The Instead cups that you toss after one cycle are okay for me, though.

I'm the same as @littlejoy: in that the first day the cup seems to increase my cramping - it feels like it puts a bit more pressure on things or something. So I've been using tampons for the first day and then switching to the cup. The cup can't be beat for convenience and obviously the environmentally friendly aspect.

For me cramping stayed the same but I was having a lot of dryness issues with tampons (sorry maybe tmi but it felt like the tampons absorbed too much) and so I like the menstrual cup a lot more. It probably took me four or five cycles to master using the cup.

I found the first month I used it it actually caused cramping, but after that it was fine. (Not to say it reduced cramping, I don't really get cramps, just that it didn't cause them anymore)

I actually can't wear it the first 1-2 days of my period, because it enhances inflammation & painful cramping. But, for the other days, I literally don't notice a difference ... Just that it's convenient.

Like the title says, did switching to a Diva Cup reduce your overall cramping and inflammation? I think I'm going to switch regardless, I just want to know if I can expect some relief.
