For what it's worth, DHEA helps eggs at the very earliest stages (so 4-5 months out). This is of course only anecdotal but I took it when trying to conceive LO2 and got pregnant 4 months after starting it (miscarried) but then got pregnant the first cycle after with a sticky baby. I think it helped me because this was two back to back pregnancies after almost nothing had happened in a year (except for one early loss very early on in TTC) but obviously I'll never really know...

@Shantuck: I emailed my nurse to check if 100 is ok, I can’t believe I bought the wrong one!
@pachamama: it is hard to believe, and especially if I’ve only taken it for a short time, but I’ll try anything lol

Yeah I was surprised it altered my cycles too. I unfortunately found it hard to believe a supplement could help with egg quality 😩. (This is coming from someone with .1 amh and super high FSH, desperate to do anything to improve my egg quality. )

@LAZB: Got it. DHEA is actually a hormone so I've read that you need to be careful with it. I'm taking a low dose of it and am not being monitored by an RE (trying for this last baby naturally) but I've actually been going in for bloodwork to test by DHEA and testosterone. Apparently, if your DHEA levels are too high, it can actually cause egg quality issues (people with PCOS have high testosterone and can have egg quality issues) so the key is to get it and keep in the right range. I'm in a facebook group called "It Starts With The Egg" (based on the infertility book with the same name), which is super helpful with all this stuff.

@Shantuck: hmm, now that you mention it, I looked in my notes and I’m supposed to take 75 mg, I haven’t asked my doc, I must have ordered the wrong dosage :/

@LAZB: Sorry... I meant were your DHEA levels tested? I think the dosage most people take is 75 mg per day so that does seem somewhat high but I'm assuming your doc is on board with that?

@Shantuck: I’m taking 100 mg once a day of DHEA and 400 mg twice a day of CoQ10, so fairly high? I’m not sure if they tested my estrogen, I am assuming so because I’m seeing an RE And have had 1 million blood tests done

@LAZB: I think DHEA can increase your estrogen levels in addition to your testosterone levels, which maybe has something to do with it. Are you taking a high dosage? Were your levels tested before starting it?

@Shantuck: I just added the dhea this month so I wouldn’t think it would already change things? But I do respond quickly to supplements and meds, so I guess it’s possible

@pachamama: interesting, I didn’t realize it would change things, just thought it was supposed to improve egg quality. I’m on it so when we do our egg retrieval hopefully things are as good as possible.

I think ubiquinol actually causes me to ovulate a little later than usual but I've heard some people say that DHEA can cause people to ovulate earlier. I do know that it can take a little time on DHEA for your body to regulate hormone levels.

@LAZB: coq 10/ubiquinol totally messed with my cycles. And gave me terrible headaches. I got a more potent kind from my aunt from some fancy company, maybe that's why. I was ovulating late. I stopped all that (dhea, co-q 10, Vitex) and for pregnant soon after.

I have been taking a lower dose of CoQ10 for a few months, but upped my dose and started taking DHEA for about the past month. I wasn’t tracking ovulation, But now I’m thinking I ovulated earlier than usual this month. Has this happened to anyone?
