Before E was born I wanted to wait until after his first birthday to TTC. He was not an easy newborn at all and we had issues with colic and breastfeeding and sleep. I still wanted another one starting at like 2 months post partum. For that reason I was okay technically NTNP (more just not being careful) and I found out I was PG at 6 months PP.

@MrsMccarthy: yay!

We didn't change. We always wanted 2 very close, and then a gap, and then another 2 close together. I'm 25 and have a 1 year old. I'd like to be done by 31.

Initially I had the opposite feeling and wanted to wait until my son was 2 but around 6 months or so the fever hit hard and I also started thinking about my fertility and how close I'd like them to be. So now we are starting in January when Baby will be 16 months

Yep. We enjoy parenting so much that we were eager to have a second. My uterus, tragically, isn't in on the plan.

We brought my son home and and then found out a few months later I was pregnant, it does not get much closer than my boys. But once we started managing them better I realized I wanted to try again. My daughter is 2 years younger than my twins.

Nope- it's made me stretch our timeline out just a little bit. C isn't colicky, but she's not the easiest. I need a little time before thinking about another!

Same thing for birth itself- I feel really positive about my birth experience but I'm in no rush to do it again.

M was colicky and our first 6 months made me question having kids at all! :wink: We'll probably wait 2 or 2.5 years as planned but I'll be a lot more nervous about the newborn period the next time.

We knew we wanted 2 and that we didn't want them too far apart. Decided to just go with the flow and I ended up getting pregnant right after DD's 1st birthday.
2 under 2 was rough, but I'm happy with how things worked out and really happy we're done having kids!

It kept it just as I planned for it to be...A general 2-year age difference. DD was very colicky and demanding and it scared me to think about another child...But after a year or so I forgot.

LO was colicky and not a great sleeper until CIO at 6 months. After sleep returned, the idea of another one felt possible. Now that LO is 13 months old, I waver between wanting another soon or maybe not at all. I liked being pregnant, so I do get twinges of jealous and missing it when I see pregnant ladies. At the same time, I'm enjoying LO at this age. I don't know how it'll be with two versus one.

I also remember newborn hood. I don't know if I'm ready for sleepless nights just yet. I do want LO and a sibling to be close in age, so sooner than later, but not so soon.

Yes!! Lo has been an amazing easy first baby and it made me get clucky again alot earlier then I anticipated. LO just turned 1, and we're going to try again early next year (I think). Just hope I get an easy second baby!

I know that the reality and hardships of actually caring for a baby make many "one and done" or "maybe later" in regards to subsequent children. However, has anyone experienced the opposite?

DD is almost three months and has been easier than I anticipated. We were initially going to wait 3-4 years before trying for a second, but have loosely decided to revisit the prospect right after her first birthday.

I fully anticipate I might have a change of heart, but surprisingly am a little excited at the prospect of having another baby sooner, rather than later.

Anyone else experience this after baby arrived?
