I'm proud of myself for sticking with it, even though I rely on domperidone to produce any milk at all. It would be so easy to give it up, because the only time I really nurse is when he wants comfort and for his 2 am wake-up. I don't even pump anymore because he hates frozen milk, and it never increased my supply. But I can't give up that little bit of bonding just yet. He's a FF baby with breast milk supplement, heh.

No, but birthing my babies gave me every confidence in the world to feel like I can do anything.

@DillonLion: my little guy is 8.5 months and I'm pumping three times a day. Sometimes I get overwhelmed thinking I have 3.5 months left of the 9, 12, and 3pm routine, but then I think, if she can do it, I can do it! (Again, maybe weird becuase I don't know you in real life lol!)

I bet I'm not the only one too. I think there are a lot of people that you've inspired with your journey :)

Not for me. I was a lucky one - breastfeeding was pretty easy. Birth, on the other hand...

It makes me a more confident parent. I'm still far from being super confident but I feel like making it this far means I was able to do one parenting thing I had planned on (:

Yes absolutely. It took the better part of two months until my first LO could latch well and lots of bumps along the road, and even with my second dealing with food intolerances and blocked ducts takes perseverance and commitment. Definitely reinforces that if I set my mind to something I can make it happen.

@DillonLion: Is it weird that I don't know you, but your committment to breastfeeding until your goal is met gives me confidence to keep going until I meet mine? I just wanted you to know that your journey is an inspiration :)

Yes! I do feel like I am capable of a lot more - the commitment takes a lot of hard work! I have been dealing with a decrease in supply plus daycare/grandmas using extra bottles and have still been able to keep up with an extra pumping session. I can only do so much though so we will see how the next few months go!

I guess so. I just had the utmost faith that it would work out. We had some trouble due to her traumatic birth, and I started out pumping and feeding her bottles. I got help from the lactation consultant in the nicu, and just knew that we'd get it before too long. And we did. It never entered my mind that it might not work out, so I didn't worry about the hassle of pumping or bottle feeding at all. I just did it, and then on her fifth day she latched on, and that was that.

Yes. It was hard as hell since he wouldn't latch for three weeks. But I'm stubborn, and he's never had any formula. I'm proud of us.

Hell yes. I think it's pretty impressive that despite the fact that I had to go on a crazy restrictive diet in order to keep breastfeeding my LO will make it to being transitioned to cow's milk without ever having a drop of formula. And I work outside the home full time! It may be my proudest personal achievement.

Yes and no. I'm proud that so far I am her total source of nutrition and it's hard work. But the entire pregnancy, labor and delivery, breastfeeding, and managing on so little sleep, all make me realize I am capable of a lot more than I might have thought.
