I had the biggest room at my dad's house until they turned it into a den and had me share with my sister. I still get upset when I think about that. They moved my things out of my room while I was at my mom's for the weekend. At my mom's I had the smaller room because my two younger brothers shared the larger room.

I've always had the biggest room in the house. Although in 1st house I grew up in my bedroom was the living room. You had to walk though the porch & my bedroom (living room) to get to the rest of the house. We used the dinning room as the living room during that time. My brother had an actual bedroom just off my room so ever time he wanted to go to his room he had to walk though my room... He is 11 years older than me so by the time I got old enough to want privacy he had gone off to college. I took over his room the next day!

Later we moved in to my grandparents old house & I got grandpa's office which was huge and had its own bathroom & a door to the outside. Mom swore I would sneak out at night but I never did, well maybe for a smoke but that was all.

I think my brother's room and mine were equally sized but DD is oldest and has the larger room compared to DS. Come to think of it, why does the oldest get to choose first? I get why Dd has the biggest room since she arrived in this world first and we just put her there but if we move, seems unfair that she should choose first since shes oldest. I'm an oldest so I wouldn't have complained but having 2 kids now I am more aware of these sibling justice issues!

I'm the oldest so I always got the big room. woohoo! My son will get the bigger room too. Right now, both rooms are the same size so it doesn't matter.

Haha! That's funny. I always had to share a room with the second youngest while the older two had their own bedrooms.

If we get the house that we want, DS will have the bigger bedroom.

Both rooms were the same size growing up, so we didn't really notice or care. When I was 10 or 11, my parents had centrail air and a forced air gas furnace installed and since it was a retrofit, the duct ran through the closet in my bedroom. At first I was miffed because it ate up my closet space, but I ended up with the best room in the house, warmest in the winter, coldest in the summer.

LO #2 will have the smaller room when s/he comes along.

I was the eldest and slept in every room at some point. When my two, much younger sibs came along, I had a smaller room & they shared a bigger room. Later, my parents added on another bigger room, which was mine. But middle sister had a smaller room than little bro.
Personally if we had a boy & a girl, I'd just put the girl in the bigger room. Girls just have so much more stuff! DHs room was tiny in comparison to his younger sister's.

I actually had a bigger room than my brother even though I was younger. Shortly after we moved in my parents built a whole new master suite. So there were now two upstairs bedrooms that had attached baths (plus a hall bath). The other room with the attached bath became the guest suite and then my parents put me in the larger of the other two rooms because it was closer to the master and I was still a baby. Once he got to high school my brother moved into the big room with the attached bath... but he had to go back to the small room any time we had overnight guests.

I was the oldest and got first pick like your brother. I think the rooms were the same size, but one had a huge walk in closet, so I went for that one.

Our boys currently share a room. The other room is going to be the nursery (once I get pregnant, currently an office). We're running out of space and as the boys get older they enjoy sharing a room less and less! We are planning on developing our basement and adding a 4th room so that one of them can have that!

We did the sam ething when we bought our house and DD picked the bigger room from the get go. Now 2 of the kids will have to share once #3 comes.

For now we have said the two girls will go in the big room together. If it is another girl our oldest has the choice to share the big room or go in the little room by herself. If it is a boy things will stay they way they are.

I was 2 and my brother was 5 when we moved into our house. My parents asked my brother to pick a bedroom and he picked the smallest room that had the biggest window...lol. My parents tried to make him take the larger room but he was in love with the window so I ended up with a bigger room. This bliss only lasted for 3 years...he finally realized he was older and wanted my room!
