I have but only because I haven't craved them at all. I did avoid deli/turkey and had a heated sandwich for the first time last week OMG SO GOOD.

No, I didn't avoid it or other lunch meats. For tuna, I just limited the amount I ate (one per every week or two) and for deli meat, I just heated the meat to steaming in the microwave right before making my sandwich.

I haven't avoided tuna, but I haven't had much of a desire for it either. I used to love eating fish, but I'm only been able to stomach it in small amounts since becoming pregnant.

I avoided them, but I rarely ate them pre-pregnancy, and I've just had zero desire for one during. If I wanted one, I'd definitely have one.

It was hard to give up but I got quite strict on it for the pregnancy as this can be the effect of mercury exposure to a fetus:

"For fetuses, infants, and children, the primary health effect of methylmercury is impaired neurological development. Methylmercury exposure in the womb, which can result from a mother's consumption of fish and shellfish that contain methylmercury, can adversely affect a baby's growing brain and nervous system. Impacts on cognitive thinking, memory, attention, language, and fine motor and visual spatial skills have been seen in children exposed to methylmercury in the womb."

I'm avoiding it, but honestly it's mostly because tuna just doesn't sound appetizing to me lately. I've also had it withheld from me by family because they heard about high mercury levels (someone made tuna sandwiches for a picnic and made chicken ones just for me). I've eaten other types of fish, but not the big, mercury laden ones.

Ooooh, I've so craved Tuna off and on. My doctor said to limit it to once a month or so because of mercury, but otherwise not a big deal. I've had a few, and they were delicious. I went totally old school with tuna on white bread with pickles. Yum!

I got a handout from my midwife that was very helpful. It had all the different types of fish, what you could have and how often. I could have tuna once a week, but salmon only every other week or once a month. Tilapia could be once a week too. But you can only choose ONE fish per week. I usually had tuna once a week. And like pp said, it has to be chunk light in water.

Here is a good guideline:
http://www.americanpregnancy.org/pregnancyhealth/fishmercury.htm

My midwife said that even though some fish says you can have it like 6x a month, make sure it's evenly spaced out. You shouldn't have tilapia one day, tuna the next and shrimp after that and say you used up your months quota. you need to let your body take care of the mercury inbetween fish.

I haven't avoided tuna, I've maybe had it every other week my entire pregnancy? My MIL ate a can of tuna every day when she was pregnant with DH, she gave me tuna for Christmas this year because of that. Yeah, she's odd.
