He's three now and the gap has gotten significantly smaller - they're all evenly spaced out. When I look in my own mouth, I definitely have one. When I was around 9 or 10 I had a gap between my two front teeth, but eventually it closed in by itself. Both my girls have pretty severe lip ties , my oldest has a gap between her teeth. Both Drs recommended we do nothing at the moment. If they need to be clipped, they will do it when they are older. My dentist seemed convinced dd1's teeth would come together as her mouth grows, and if they don't then they will after they clip it. So my LO had a pretty big lip tie, similar to your LO, but his teeth came in with no issue and look totally normal now (no huge gap). Cutting the lip tie is NOT recommended for dental reasons (according to multiple pediatric dentists and ENTs I've talked to) because the jaw changes and teeth move as the child grows. honestly, you want big spacing between baby teeth because it leaves more room for adult teeth to come in. He had both clipped st 3 weeks old due to BF issues. (The frenulectomy was super fast and easy). I was worried about it causing problems for her speech (and orthodontia) but her dentist wasn't concerned. After a few months her gap has gotten much smaller. BUT I'm worried it will cause him to have a big gap between his front teeth later on and there is VERY conflicting information out there on resolving the lip tie or letting it just be.<br /> Did you LO have a lip tie (not a tongue tie), and did it cause a gap in between his teeth later on? What was your experience with frenulectomies? </p>
