After I had him and read more about nursing past 12 mos, I thought I'd keep going as long as we both wanted to. I'm planning to stop pumping at 12 mos, but I'll continue nursing him after that. We are at 8.5 months right now and for the last couple of days I have mixed 4oz of formula into the 24oz of breastmilk that I leave for her when I am at work. My goal was to get to six months and then a year. She got down to only nursing twice a day around 5.5-6 months and stopped nursing altogether at 6.5 months. She finished up her last bit of breast milk at 7 months old.
