I think it was very helpful for him to be there. First of all I have an awful memory, plus its all so overwhelming especially when your lo comes and is crying and hungry and you just cant think, it will be nice to have someone else there that will be able to help. </p> <p>Plus my dh really enjoyed it. They showed a video of the first hour of life where they do skin to skin and the baby tries to latch on and just roots around till it finds the boob. That way, when he was holding her he could see her hungry cues and get her to me. It really wasn't a big deal at all, not really awkward that I could see. </p> <p>We found it extremely helpful, he learned that there is so much more to it than just popping the baby on the boob. My hubby is very hands on and likes to know about everything going on.
