I was in my pre-pregnancy size for DD (smalls or sometimes even xs depending on the item) but I am worried this time I may not be :P We will see! I think it's normal to go up a size though!

I was mostly able to fit into my pre-pregnancy size.
The only tops that were a little small were the long sleeve tops from target. They were just a little short in the sleeve.

I was on the cusp of L/XL when I first got pregnant so I bought XL in pants, size for shirts depended upon where they were bought. If they were bought at consignment/goodwill/thrift vs off the rack I usually buy XL if C/G/T and L if off the rack; although it also depends upon the brand. I was pretty much a solid XL when I got pregnant this time and have continued to buy XL pants (off season pregnancies so I get to buy an almost entire new wardrobe) but shirts are still L/XL depending upon where they are from.

I find it weird that maternity tops have NO give in the bust. I'm usually a medium, maternity large.

I bought all of my shirts in my regular size but my pants I actually went a size down. Though my shirts are almost too small but I figure 5 more weeks isn't worth buying more clothes lol.

I wore the same as my pre-pregnancy size throughout my pregnancy, the stuff I bought in the first trimester fit well through the end of pregnancy for me. I did only gain 10 pounds of "real" weight, and 10 pounds of "water" weight in my pregnancy though, so that might have something to do with it.

I was a size large pre-pregnancy and wore large sized maternity clothes throughout my entire pregnancy. I did buy 2 XL shirts towards the end but I could have done without them.

I wore a medium before and am still wearing medium sized maternity clothes at 22+ weeks. They're actually a little big still since my bump has a long way to go..but I have a feeling by the end they will feel pretty small!

I was a small before, and I've been buying all smalls in maternity stuff. The small maternity pants and dress I bought still have a lot of room for growth! I'm sure it's company dependent tho.

I was a 2-4 prepregnancy and bought all my maternity clothes in medium. I bought jeans in size 29 per the suggestion of the salesclerk at pea in the pod, but I def could have bought a size 28 instead. (was 26/27 prepregnancy for jeans).

I just bought my first maternity clothes and my regular size still fits just fine (in fact, the clothes are a bit baggy at the moment). They seem to cut the maternity sizes larger than non-maternity sizes, which is something to consider when you're buying.

The fact that your hips and ribcage widen, and your chest usually gets larger, could be why some ladies need to go up a size. I'll probably need to move up to medium by the end just to account for my hips/thighs!

I started out an XS and wear maternity XS from Old Navy and Motherhood Maternity. I did get a pair of Motherhood shorts in a small that fit fine, so maybe it varies by item because my jeans are XS and fit fine, too.

I started as an XS, and most of my XS stuff still fits, except for my one pair of jeans (which also are somehow missing--or my DH hid them so I wouldn't feel bad not fitting them).
None of my shirts are long enough anymore--well 2 old navy tank tops almost are.
FWIW, I'm 39+ weeks, and gained 40 pounds...

Yeah, I'm convinced the whole pre-pregnancy size thing is a lie. I haven't gained too much weight yet (28 weeks, 15 pounds) and I still went from a small to a medium.

I started in mediums and it was a BIG MISTAKE. Nothing sized medium fits me anymore. I am a pre-preggo medium but a preggo large (probably could handle some xl at this point but I REFUSE TO BUY MORE CLOTHES)!!! haha.

I started out with smalls, but those smalls were from Pea In A Pod (and the tops were still too big). The smalls I tried from Motherhood Maternity were cut a little smaller than the Pea clothes, especially the pants/skirts.

I am currently wearing medium skirts, some small dresses and non-maternity dresses), and a mixture of small/medium sized tops.

Either I was in denial about my pre-pregnancy size (small) or maternity clothes are NOT sized as the tags say ("Buy your regular pre-pregnancy size!"). I haven't found anything in size small in recent shopping trips. Mediums are mostly working for now (21 weeks), but I think I might need to get into size large at some point. What was your experience with maternity sizing?
