Makes it easier when I'm writing notes to not have to remember the last names of the Moms on top of the last names of the kids (and remember which Mom last name goes with which kid last name).<br /> Also as a teacher, my last name is really 'out there', and I am proud to have a married name....it was fun to have the transition at school from Miss ___ to Mrs _____. We're expecting our 1st in August - but I'm not planning on changing my name at that time either. On most things concerning my daughter I go ahead and sign my maiden and married name together regardless. One reason I haven't changed it yet is I'm about to become an elementary teacher and my married name is much more difficult to spell/pronounce for younger children than my maiden name. After having my first kid and going through registration for different kid classes and for preschool, etc., I realized that I wanted to have the same last name as my kids.
