Dh & I both wanted 4 children. Then when I had DD, I took it down to two. I'm pretty sure we'll have 3. We'll officially decide after #2 is here in a couple of years.

We always, always talked about being one and done. But now that DS is here I want another soo badly. I don't think it's going to happen but I had no clue how much I'd really, really love being a mom.

@edelweiss: Around 18 months, it dawned on me that DD was super fun and a lot easier! LOL. So I wasn't so afraid about going through the crazy baby stage again. I also felt like our family wasn't complete. I am an only child and DH has a small family, too. So I thought about that a lot and I started to really want DD to have a sibling. We don't live by our families so it's lonely. I really hope that my 2 girls can be a good support system for each other!

I really enjoy having 2 and I'm so glad I changed my mind. I also really like the age gap (2 years, 9 months) because DD can help me with her baby sis! ;-)

@Andrea: what made you change your mind? i always thought two, but after having LO, who is almost 5 months old, i vacillate between one and done and just avoiding thinking about the whole subject altogether.

I was the opposite! I was up for 4-5 kids! Both DH and I came from big families and loved it.

But after not loving pregnancy, a traumatizing birth and a difficult adjust to parenthood, I am ok with 2. MAYBE 3. We'll see!

I used to want three... Then realized how expensive kids are and leaned towards two. When LO was born the first couple of months were really tough for me. I had some baby blues/post partum anxiety and I just didn't think I could go through that again. But once she turned about four months we were in our groove and I was so much happier and now I have total baby fever (well.... I miss having a newborn, but I'm not actually ready to get pg again!). I have a feeling when my secon outgrows babyhood I'll probably be begging hubs for a third!

I'm still pregnant with #1 but at this point I feel like I could definitely be one and done. DH really wants at least two. We've agreed not to make that decision ahead of time, but just to start with one and see how we feel about having a second as time goes on -- but I really wouldn't be surprised if we both end up flipping our positions on it, haha. I guess we'll see!

Yep, we were going to be one-bio & adopt more but plan for 2 bio & then foster to adopt once they are old enough to semi-understand what that means or what the process might look like.
