@grizz: Agreed! I always tell DH that our Golden is going to be Brady's best friend growing up. On the other hand, I am pretty confident that Brady will be our pug's worst nightmare!

@rahlyrah: DH said he was going to knit LO a blanket with it! But they will be such great dogs for our babies to grow up with :)

I don't think I ever will. Our dog sleeps in the kennel right next to our bed, and our 2 cats sleep in bed with us.

@grizz: We have a Golden, too! I don't think there is any protecting these babies from Golden hair. I think I could make my own Golden Retriever with the amount of fur I sweep up every day! Lol.

@regberadaisy: @rahlyrah: I'm glad to know! We really didn't want to move them. We figure LO will get used to the barking just like we have, and we can always run our portable air filter if our golden retriever is having a really big shedding spell.

Nope! I don't plan to change our dogs' sleeping arrangements. The big dog usually sleeps on the living room or kitchen floor but the little dog always sleeps in bed with me.

I am also in the camp where I think it is important to expose my child to germs/allergens/etc. to build up his immune system. I know that many people have a differing viewpoint!

Nope, she still sleeps in the bed with us. I think if we try ot not let her it will cause more disruption! In the first few weeks LO slept in a by your side sleeper in bed with us. All four of us in bed together; thank god for a cali king!

@grizz: M's crib was also in our bedroom the first 6 months until we moved into the new house. It was fine. :)

I've read a couple of things now that recommend you not let your pets sleep in your bedroom due to air quality concerns, dander, etc. Our three dogs sleep in our bedroom 24/7! DH works nights and I work days, so there's pretty much always a big dog on the floor and our two little dogs in the bed.

Our two littles don't shed, but they bark a LOT. I'm used to it and fall right back asleep. Our big dog sheds a ton but he's not noisy at all. I just notice I have to dust and vacuum our bedroom twice as much as anywhere else in the house.

All three are kennel trained and don't mind sleeping in beds in their crates, but we've just spoiled them. LO will be in the room with us for at least 6 months. Should I change where they sleep prior to LO arriving? Did you change where your pets sleep?
