I only have one LO, and am not planning to have more than one in diapers at a time, but if we did have multiple kids in dipes at once, I'd continue to use cloth diapers. The cost and trash for 3 in disposables is outrageous anyway, and while laundry is a pain, it really isn't that bad. I would probably use the dryer more rather than hang to dry though. It takes about 8-10 hours to hang dry depending on the kind of diaper, and you can get away with fewer dipes if the laundry turnover time is less. I do know several people who have had 2-4 kids in diapers at once and used cloth, so it is definitely possible.

As long as there is a system, I don't think it's that big of a deal. If I were CDing multiples, I'd love to have another washing machine, like a cheapie top loader, though!

Well... if she uses disposables, she'll have 3x the trash, too, so if her trash can is as far away as mine is, CD might still be the better option.

Is her washer/dryer in the home? If so, I think she can do it.

I have a baby and a toddler in cloth and it's fine. I have to do laundry more often for the baby so the toddler's diapers don't sit around long enough to stink up the house :) I can't imagine triplets, though. That's so many diapers no matter how you look at it.

Yikes to your friend!! I can't imagine cloth diapering in the early months. LO had about 12-15 wet/poopy diapers a day!

@autumnlove: I'm glad I'm not the only one thinking this... I know I hated when people would tell me I'd never last with cloth, but it's a very different situation! She doesn't know yet. I have all in ones and love them, but she'll have to buy 3 times as many so I have a feeling she'll just have to buy what's on sale.

Oh jeez, I can't imagine! One in cloth is hard enough! Is she planning on using economical prefolds and covers or all in ones, etc?

I have a friend who's pregnant with triplets who plans to cloth diaper. My LO is cloth diapered, and I'm a huge fan of it, but I'm also worried for the amount of laundry she'll have. She says what I said, you're going to have lots of laundry so what's one more load? But she'll have triple the laundry.....

Did you cloth diaper with more than one? Was it rough?
