We use the BG Freetimes, so they are just like a disposable (no stuffing). The only work is throwing them in the washer/dryer, and I'm doing laundry anyway. </p> <p>We got a lot of...not exactly negative but definitely skeptical...feedback when I was pregnant, specifically from my mother and MIL. When I said "cloth diapers" they imagined the squares with the pins and couldn't imagine why I'd want to do that. Now they're both sold--we went to brunch with my ILs last week and I went to the bathroom and when I came back MIL was showing our waitress a (clean) diaper and gushing about them! My DH was hesitant about it until we actually started, and now he loves it. </p> <p>Anyway, we use them and we love it. Since then I know that another HS friend bought a stash, and my SIL has been posting links to mom-made ones, but I'm not sure if she's actually used them or not. </p> <p>Unfortunately, none of these people are local to me! My DH is very "whatever you want, I'll do" and since he's going to be the major caregiver when I go back to work, I hope they work for him. Like I said, I know pretty much 1 person in real life who uses them and she is a friend I haven't actually seen in years and years, I only know because of facebook. I can only imagine my parents' reactions though-- they would try to talk me out of it for sure. (These are people who think a midwife assisted birth in a hospital is very "hippie dippy".)<br /> But I don't think it's for us. DH and I both talked about this morning but are still pretty meh about it. And I really only considered them because I think they are much cuter than disposables (probably not the best reason to choose them!). I am a huge germophobe and the thought of washing diapers in the same washing machine as my clothes just grosses me out. I also think it'd be a pain when traveling or being out in public away from home.
