For her two and four month vaccination, I didn't cry but I couldn't look and let DH help hold her. DH couldn't go to the six month appointment so I had to be strong and watch. It was awful.

They let me nurse during needles (even our flu shots and 12 mo needles). It worked great to calm LO.

No, but he really just screamed for the couple of seconds between when the needle would go in and the bandaid went on. This was for his 2 month shots. His dad is taking him at 4 months, so even if there are tears, I sure he'll never admit it!

I make DH hold him, I can't even look. Though DS has yet to cry, he's such a strong little guy.

I cried at 2 months, fine at 4 months (she didn't cry), and I did ok at 6 months, even though she cried pretty hard. She's such a happy baby, and loves being on the table (she likes to crinkle the paper), so I feel pretty bad when she starts crying and I have no way to explain why we're putting her through pain.

I haven't cried but it definitely gets harder! 6 months was the worst because she was so alert!

When DD was 0-6 months, the pediatrician we were going to made us hold her down on the table while they gave her her vaccinations. It was so awful, and I cried at 2, 4, and 6 months. :( We switched doctors after that, though, and the doctor we see now allows us to hold the kids for their shots. It's still not pleasant, but the kids calm down so much faster since I can comfort them the whole time. I haven't cried since we made the switch.

No but the first time was very hard. She screamed uncontrollably and then once we got in the car she fell asleep immediately and didnt want to eat when we got home.

I do. Although, at her 12 month I pulled through and didn't. I hate how it must be so scary for them to get stuck with a needle three times in a row without an understanding of what is happening.

I haven't cried yet, but I do come close :( Even at her 12 month shots she still didn't really know what's going on. They let me hold her so it wasn't too bad for her, and she didn't cry until the actual stick. I think she was more upset about when the doctor came and poked and prodded, she has major stranger anxiety so it took her awhile to get over that.

LO is getting her 4 month vaccinations tomorrow and I hate it! :( I stayed strong for her 2 month shots and didn't cry, but she calmed pretty quickly once I was able to hold her and comfort her. I'm afraid now that she's older and more alert she'll get more upset this time around, and so will I! I hate thinking about her being hurt and confused, even if it is for a good reason. :'(
