It was a very emotional moment that had a long time of labor leading up to it (ended in a c-section which we were both also emotional about). When we heard her it was like "that's my baby! I had a c-section after a super long labour so it was probably a mix of all kinds of emotions and exhaustion. Labor was a happy experience other than the pain, between DH sneaking a funny book into the hospital and the unintentional comedy of silly things we both said to the doctor and nurses. I had an unexpected C-section after a failed induction and I just wanted it all to end. DH didn't cry (was maybe teary eyed) because he was so worried about me.</p> <p>With DS#2, I definitely cried and felt intense emotion. I helped deliver him/pulled him onto my chest after my VBAC. DH cried too. It was just so emotional seeing our beautiful baby girl in our arms! With DD2, neither one of us cried. I was grumpy because my epidural hadn't been working properly and I was just happy it was all over. DH said he was obviously thrilled when DD2 arrived, but as he'd already experienced the feeling once before, it didn't bring on the tears this time. I was that relieved. The spinal freaked me the heck out and by the time my husband came in and they started, I was a mess. I remember thinking I would cry when he was born because I'm definitely a crier, but I didn't. I was just so overwhelmed and relieved he was finally here. Plus I was having a bad reaction to the anesthetic that made me shake uncontrollably.</p> <p>My DH cried a little bit, and for a long while after the birth, I thought he had teared up at seeing our baby for the first time.
