Nope, neither time. I was feeling such relief from getting them out, I almost forgot about the babies for a second.

When we heard her first gurgly cry as they pulled her out, DH & I both looked at each other & started crying. It was a very emotional moment that had a long time of labor leading up to it (ended in a c-section which we were both also emotional about). When we heard her it was like "that's my baby! That's what my baby sounds like!" :') I was also shaking the entire time during the c-section and having a panic attack but it was like a calm swept over me once I heard her cry and I was finally able to control my shaking

I did. I had a c-section after a super long labour so it was probably a mix of all kinds of emotions and exhaustion. I didn't think I would be the type to cry, to be honest but when I heard him start crying and sent my DH away to go check on him, the tears just started flowing.

Nope, I don't think I cried, at least I'm not crying in the pictures. Labor was a happy experience other than the pain, between DH sneaking a funny book into the hospital and the unintentional comedy of silly things we both said to the doctor and nurses. But we had it very easy, and now that we're older and wiser :silly: , if I have another child, I'll definitely cry when they're safe and sound in my arms.

With DS#1, I felt instant relief when I heard him cry, but I was hyperventilating and shaking so hard that I did not have the capacity to cry or to feel any emotion. I had an unexpected C-section after a failed induction and I just wanted it all to end. DH didn't cry (was maybe teary eyed) because he was so worried about me.

With DS#2, I definitely cried and felt intense emotion. I helped deliver him/pulled him onto my chest after my VBAC. DH cried too. It was a healing experience for me.

I cried when DD1 was born and so did DH. It was just so emotional seeing our beautiful baby girl in our arms! With DD2, neither one of us cried. I was grumpy because my epidural hadn't been working properly and I was just happy it was all over. DH said he was obviously thrilled when DD2 arrived, but as he'd already experienced the feeling once before, it didn't bring on the tears this time. I was sure we'd both cry again, but nope.

@ValentineMommy: This was me too, exactly.

I basically stopped crying when I heard him cry. I was that relieved. The spinal freaked me the heck out and by the time my husband came in and they started, I was a mess. I remember thinking I would cry when he was born because I'm definitely a crier, but I didn't. I was just so overwhelmed and relieved he was finally here. He also didn't cry for what seemed like a long time after they pulled him out, so I pretty much held my breath and time stopped.

I think I cried more tears gearing up to have him. I had a medically necessary scheduled c-section and I was scared out of my mind when my husband had to leave the room for the spinal meds. I mean, I was almost hyperventilating I was so freaked out. By the time DS was pulled out, I think I was just all over the place mentally that I didn't actually cry.

As soon as a nurse said "He has a head full of hair!" I started to cry.

Then they pulled him out and I heard him cry and I seriously was bawling, sobbing, ugly crying to the extreme. I was so happy though. Haha but I did not anticipate myself losing it like that.

I think my OB was worried. When he was stitching me up he was trying to reassure me everything was okay. I said "No I'm happy!" And he sounded relieved. Haha

Nope. I'd gone through 36 hours of labor and an emergency c-section. Plus I was having a bad reaction to the anesthetic that made me shake uncontrollably.

My DH cried a little bit, and for a long while after the birth, I thought he had teared up at seeing our baby for the first time. It turned out he was crying because of me and the awful state I was in.
