@wonderstruck: My fasting readings are always low to mid 80s. I think once it was as high as 91. And I have had bacon cheddar burger and fries from a fast food restaurant a few times, and an hour later my reading is perfectly fine too.

Sending you strength. Not long to go now!!!

I was religious about my GD management to the point where I had one high reading during my induction (it took a few days) and stated crying about it!! That was a bit silly :silly: but like Dandelion says it's very important to keep your blood sugars stable at this point so that baby doesn't have a sudden dip in blood sugar when he/she is born.

You can do it!!!

@butterflyprism: I'm a bad example too lately. I splurged the other night and had a burger, fries, and Mt Dew - bad, horrible meal, right? My blood sugar an hour later was a 105. Um...my fasting blood sugar that morning, after many days of perfect eating and taking my glyburide at night, was a 110! WTF.

My numbers have been low, and my doctor isn't that concerned. After one good month on the diet (37 weeks now) I am definitely slacking this week, and making up numbers to show doc. I do check twice a day, just not four times. I don't think I actually have GD though - I never eat a lot of sugar, and I think the glucola just caused my body to go into sugar shock. My last growth scan a week ago shows that baby's weight is on target for her due date, and even if I splurge and have a small piece of chocolate, my blood sugar hasn't been crazy high. I'm still not having ice cream or brownies or other sugary stuff, but I'm not counting carbs meticulously either.

I'm a bad example. Don't do what I'm doing.

This is my second pregnancy with GD and it is so much harder for me this time around. I took a bunch of weight off between my pregnancies so this time I am more borderline than anything but it is harder when it's so mild if that makes sense! I totally understand but keep telling myself it's a short term sacrifice for long term happiness!!!

I wish, I'm 33 weeks and really struggling with it! But my doctor told me that typically as your pregnancy progresses, it's not uncommon for your sugar levels to rise or more medication to become necessary as pregnancy progresses. And I'd feel awful if LO was born with their blood sugar messed up or it caused extra strain on the placenta. I know it's really hard, but just hang in there!

I didn't totally ditch it but was definitely more lax towards the end. I already knew I was having a repeat c section so baby size didn't worry me. My numbers were ok too - a few ones here and there but my doc wasn't worried.

I can do it!! I have to get over my whiney-ness. It has taken over every area of my life. Ugh.

Okay, only a week or two left, I can do this.

Nope, because I had to check in every two weeks and I don't like to be chastised by my doctors :)

I did, however, slack off a bit once I'd had my last appt before my c section!

Hang in there!

Awwww! You're almost there mama! :)

My nurse said a week or two of high numbers is not going to harm the baby so you *might* be okay. You can probably just check with your doctor just in case.

Don't ditch it! You don't want that baby to have low blood sugar when it is born.

I'm 39 weeks and getting really sick of all the GD management. I've not ditched the rules, but I am getting bad about always checking post meal sugars (they've been great for as long as I was diagnosed). I also am pushing limits more - which sometimes results in higher numbers, but sometimes I get away with it fine!

My 36 week scan looked great and I have another to check in on the GD stuff next Tuesday... I want this to be ooooverrrrr!!!!
