I went to one of the free classes and confirmed that the annual storage fee was for the lifetime of your child (until if/when they needed it!) So for things like cancer, if you estimated they might get at age 55, you/LO would be paying that annual fee for 55 years! And it wasn't a small annual fee. At my first prenatal appointment they gave me this stack of papers to fill out and sign, and I'm usually so bad and just speed through and sign everything, but I happened to be paying attention and one of them was an agreement to have the cord blood banking and pay for any and all associated costs. That kind of turned me off because here I am 5 and a half weeks pregnant and nervous as anything and they want to (sort of) trick me into agreeing to pay an undisclosed amount of money without any discussion? I didn't sign - it stated you can still decide to do it later - so I suspect we'll talk about it again when we have our birth plan appointment.</p> <p>Does anyone know if some insurance plans cover this?
