I did newborn and 6 month and then will do a year. I'm SO glad we did it.</p> <p>We did lifestyle photos, so they weren't posed. It captured the newness of our little family. Our photographer didn't just do the sleepy baby wrapped up in blanket laying in basket type of shots (those are ADORABLE!), but she also documented us as a family. She was able to capture really sweet moments of DH and I holding our LO, gazing into her eyes, and just being utterly in love with her. We'll probably do future family photos with the same photographer as well. Since we got a combo package, it was cheaper, and we're good friends with her. DH was against it due to cost and not seeing the value difference in taking pictures ourselves. I finally just decided to pay for it myself - he'll change his mind when he see's them I just know!</p> <p>Our photog is $260 which includes the session, all props/accessories and a DVD with all rights to the images (about 100 she estimates). I figured this is worth it since I can then print my own pictures, use one image for our announcement and one for the Christmas card. Also, the fact that she includes all kinds of props and accessories is a huge plus. I bought a book teaching me the ins-and-outs of the camera, and played with it a bunch during my pregnancy.
