Yes, I had to drink an hour before and hold it. It was no fun. For my anatomy scan, I also had to have a full bladder, but the tech looked at the parts first that they want the full bladder for, then let me go before the rest of it!

I didn't yesterday and it was ok! :-) The doctor just told me to have a full bladder for my anatomy scan in Dec.

Yep, full bladder required! I asked the ultrasound tech and she said a full bladder helps push the uterus forward for a better scan. :)

For the NT scan, yes, I had to have a full bladder... and they kept me waiting for 45 minutes past my scheduled appointment time. I was miserable! The NT scan was the only ultrasound I had that required a full bladder.

Nope, they haven't told me to drink anything at any of mine. I don't see that it would matter since I have to pee in a cup right when I get there everytime!

I didn't do a NT scan, but I've never been instructed to drink water before an ultrasound. I know a lot of people have, and I think it might depend on the type/quality of US equipment. I would imagine that for your NT scan they'll be using a hardcore machine where it wouldn't matter...but as you know, your doc's office is the best authority! :)

Were you instructed to drink a lot of water before your NT scan? I don't remember if I was given any specific instructions and the hold time for my OB office is too long!
