had a nice big bowl of pesto pasta for lunch, and then had a dr appt where i was told that I'd be induced, so was too nervous to eat after that. at about 10p the nice nurse gave me 3 jellos to snack on, 8 hours later gave birth. glad i had the pasta lunch.

I didnt know I was going to be induced I went to my 40 week check up at my doctors office straight from work and found out i had to be induced that same day, they didnt even let me go home. I was given some hospital food but couldnt really eat because I was so worried and then by the time I started feeling hungry they said "no food or drink after midnight" and I was like "WHAT?" I was starving the entire day while I was waiting for the pitocin to kick in and I was watching tv drooling at all the food commercials.

I didn't eat before. Then I was in labor for 29 hours, and I threw up at the pushing stage--all liquid--probably the ice chips.
I didn't eat again for another 14 hours or so after labor. I was much hungrier *after*

We were making lunch (pasta, figured I'd carbo load) when my husband called the hospital to ask when we should come in. They said "come now" so we dumped the water and left.

I didn't eat anything until after delivery about 8 hours later. I also didn't vomit.

I didn't know I was going to be induced that day, I can't remember what I ate. I remember being really thirsty and my husband had a coke, I wanted it so bad but was scolded by the nurse. After she left he snuck sprite into my cup! lol
I think I pribably had a huge bowl of fruit, that was my normsl breakfast. Nothing came up either.

I felt pretty nauseous and not very hungry for the entire 3 days I was in labor. I ate small amounts of food b/c I knew I had to -- mostly goldfish crackers and cliff bars. I also drank *a ton* of coconut water, which I think really helped me to keep up my energy.

I went into labor at 3am and left for the hospital around 7:30am
and had no appetite so I didn't eat. LO was born via csection at 9:05pm and then I was in recovery for a few hours and didn't get into our room until a little past midnight...and even then I wasn't hungry. I didn't eat until the next morning...I went over 24 hours with no food...but I didn't really feel hungry...but after that I devoured my hospital food :)

Yep! I had a hamburger and potato salad. While I was in labor I ate trail mix and granola bars and drank coconut water. I was in labor for 15 hours and there is no way I could have done it without a little bit of food.

My water broke first thing when I woke up, and my nerves were too crazy to eat. I was allowed clear liquids in the hospital though. That totally shocked my mom. She said when she gave birth, the nurse wouldn't even let her have ice chips!

Labour made me feel so nauseous and I did end up barfing it all out.
Doc said I could eat if I wanted to, but I didn't want to eat.
Short labour for me though.
I didn't feel like eating much til the next morning.

I did! I ate peanut butter and a banana. I did throw up but it wasn't food, just bile. I threw up 6 hours after I ate my snack.

I think eating is up to how your labor goes. I labored at home for a while and even though I wasn't hungry, I knew it could be a while. Luckily, I had some time to eat.

After I pushed her out, the last thing I was thinking about was food. They brought me dinner at 5:30 but my stomach was too unsettled still to eat.

Ugh, I still cringe when thinking about this! I ate a few lemon Luna bars on the way to the hospital since I hadn't been hungry for lunch, but knew that I needed some energy just in case I wasn't allowed to eat at the hospital. An hour later I threw up and threw up, etc...

Things went much faster than we expected. I also brought a few snacks just in case things went long- but we forgot them in the car.

We were admitted at 4pm, and my poor husband didn't get to eat until midnight when he brought In'N Out Burger after our son arrived and we got moved to our room- third best burger I have ever had! My advice is to bring a few snacks, at least for your husband, just in case!

I had pizza. Only because I wasn't sure how long labor was going to go on, and I didn't want to cook (although I oddly wanted to bake a pumpkin pie and did!). It was New Year's Day so the only thing open was a pizza place. It came up later, but it was the least of my worries compared to contractions!

Did you eat before heading to the hospital, and if so, what?

I figure I'll probably need the energy, and if I'm going to throw up, I'd rather have something in my stomach to throw up. I'm having trouble figuring out what, though. Maybe something carb and/or protein heavy?
