I know it will be such a happy time, but I really dislike being the center of attention. Our baby would be the first for both sides of our families, so I know everyone would want to be very involved and have a billion questions. I try to tell myself all the love will be great, but it still makes me uncomfortable. It felt weird to tell the world because up until that point the pregnancy felt personal and intimate between DH and I. It was sooooo weird telling the male partners at work. I know it sounds immature, but I couldn't even say the word "pregnant". That sounded too... personal? I dunno. I said "well, I just wanted to inform you that the reason I've been taking so much time off is not because I'm interviewing (they knew this was sorta jokey, my personality), but because I'm expecting a baby." I was definitely a little embarrassed when I told my boss and some of my male coworkers....some of them definitely looked like they were going to faint with shock. </p>
