I freaked my mom out one time when I went down to the woods and found a raspberry bush and my friend and I came back covered, she made us take her to the bush to identify it and make sure we hadn't poisoned ourselves. We have a secret place that we go to in the woods to pick wild high bush blueberries, they are amazingly delicious. A couple years ago there was a bumper crop and between DH and I we picked 30 lbs. It irritates me every year in the grocery store I see mulberries being sold at a crazy price and being called blackberries. If the top of the berry doesn't have an empty hole but has a stem filler then it's a mulberry and won't be nearly as tasty as a blackberry. They were smaller and a little more tart than the ones in the grocery store. Yum. We also picked a lot of raspberries and regular strawberries. My grandpa had a huge garden and there are a ton of "pick your own" strawberry fields. I miss them now.
