We use Oxyclean stain treatment when necessary. I haven't heard about the need to add borax to the wash cycle. We use Kirkland's F &amp; C since it was cloth diaper recommended, too. (Also, it's available at Costco.) Although, we have switched to Tide's Free &amp; Gentle for cloth diapers because it's a bit stronger and does a better job at cleaning.</p> <p>If you use a free &amp; clear detergent, do you also add borax (a softener) to increase the cleaning power? F&amp;C is usually a bit weaker compared to regular detergent. </p>
