We had 2 showers. We got all of the important things on our registry that I really wanted (bottles, swaddle blankets, bath tub, rock and play, car seat, pack n play) plus a decent amount of the other things we registered for. There was a lot left, but I over registered specifically to give people choices or to show the kinds of things we generally liked in case they just wanted guidance for choosing on their own. Nobody bought cloth diapers and most people ignored the Amazon registry and preferred to shop in store. We got plenty of clothes at the shower and once LO was born. I think I registered for one or two unique clothing items that I couldn't resist , and got them. We did add some toys if there was something specific we wanted, and got a couple of them. Other than clothes and toys, most people stuck with the registry.

We probably received 60% of what was on our registry. A lot of people bought us clothes and blankets, which we didn't register for. But it helped us a lot since we didn't need to buy any clothes for the first few months.

I registered for clothes, books, and toys, but no one is buying those things. We're getting them, but everyone is picking them out on their own.

We got maybe 10% of the items on our registry. But fewer than half the people invited to my shower actually bothered to show up. Those who did come either got something off the registry or something completely random like DIY art or picture frames and stuff like that. Or clothes.

ETA since I didn't really answer your question... We had about 80 items split between 2 registries. We didn't register for clothes (except white onesies from Carter's in each size, through the amazon universal registry, which nobody bought) or books (I wouldn't have been able to narrow it down). I registered for a few toys for those who wanted to buy something cute instead of useful, and we got all the toys. We also got a ton of hand me down toys so I wish I hadn't registered for them because there was other stuff we needed.

If you're comfortable with it there is a ton of feeding supplies you can also register for, unless you want to wait and see if breastfeeding works out - milk storage bags, lanolin, hot/cool packs, a hand pump (useful for pumping off small amounts pre-feed during the engorgement phase), breast pads, boppy/Brest friend pillow, etc.

I got A LOT of things off our registries - more than I expected. I was lucky we actually got so many A&A blankets, I think I actually have to return one box! (Other mommies love them so they wanted to give them.)
I only registered for a couple of specific books and toys. We got one of the books and one set of wooden blocks. We got 2-3 toys that we didn't register for.

Four our friends & family one - I agree, most people spent in the $40-50 range. For DH's co-worker shower, gifts were generally less expensive and more "off the registry" items.
I say put whatever you want, but don't expect clothes that YOU picked. People will pick whatever they want in that category.

I had three showers and got almost everything off my registries. I had two - one at BRU and another on Amazon - with about 75-100 items on each. Almost everyone bought off the registry and the few non registry gifts we recd (stuffed animals, books, clothes) were fine. I didn't register for clothes, toys or books. I tried to include a good mix of prices but most people purchased in the above 50$ range. We have so many generous friends!!

We got 90% of stuff off our registry. Two showers, each 25-30 people each. I had two twin registries at Target & BRU, had around 100 items total.

I didn't register for blankets, clothes, and only a handful of toys.

We got all of the big items and a few duplicates. I just exchanged and bought the rest of NEED items. Then bought clothes with the rest of the $$/giftcards.

I was impressed by how much we did get off our registries. Granted some looked at them and then bought elsewhere (Target, amazon, etc). We did register for toys. No blankets, besides A&A ones, or clothes. People are going to buy the clothes they think are cute.

I think it is better to have more on the registry then to few. Then you get people buying you things that they think you need or will like, and you can't return it. Plus you can put stuff on there, return it if you don't really need it, and have gift cards for diapers.

I just got a swing and activity saucer from work yesterday. We got handme downs from my nephews, so I am going to return them. Use the $ for what else we do need and save the rest on gift cards for all the diapers and wipes we will need.

My approach to registries is just add a ton of stuff that you would like. If people buy it for you that's great. If they don't, you don't have to buy it, but you can use your completion discount if you really want to. I had books and toys on mine, but we got a TON of clothes. People like picking out clothes for baby girls.

I had a big shower, it was coed and I think about 70 people so I put a ton of things on there. Still I got a good amount of off registry stuff like clothes. People love to buy little girl clothes, and I didn't register for any. It was great because my LO needs to be clothed, but I did end up having to go back and buy things like sheets, changing pad covers, etc.

Mine had 46 items. I only got 7 or 8 (the moby wrap, changing pad, boppy, travel boppy, bath kit, swing, stroller frame).

Most people will buy off registry, unfortunately. Luckily, I was able to returned 80% of it and get the things I needed instead.

Sounds fine to me. I only had a small shower, but only my mom, MIL, SIL and one friend went off my registry. Everyone else gave tons of clothes, toys, books, diapers, wipes and money/gift cards. I didn't register for any of those!

I did register for blankets, cause I wanted a&a ones, but didn't get them...I didn't get any blankets, which I thought was really weird, cause with ds I was gifted about a million blankets.

My mom and I have been going rounds about my registry. There are 34 items, but 53 total things on there (I registered for 2 packs of washcloths so it's one item, but counted as two for the total). She doesn't think I have enough on there. There are 27 things in the $1-$10 range, and about 10 each on the $10-$20, $20-$50, and $50-$100+ ranges. She sent 25 invites and expects 15 people to come and another 5 or so (DH's side who live across country but still got invites) to send gifts.

I also think my coworkers and DH's coworkers will have mini showers for us at work.

I haven't registered for clothes or toys or books or blankets (except swaddling blankets) since I think people generally pick those sorts of things out on their own.

Did you register for clothes, books, or toys? I've also left off feeding supplies (bottles, breast pump, etc.) since I'll be able to get a pump through my insurance and I already bought a couple of bottle brands I wanted to try.

Any advice? Is my registry big enough? Should I add more? If so, what's a good thing to add?
