I always drop very not-so-subtle hints about what I would like and he usually doesn't listen at all. He followed his normal pattern. He always waits until the last minute to buy something and gets me something random, which really annoys me. It sort of seems like a waste of $$ to me and I'm always tempted (and sometimes do) take the gifts back!</p> <p>My birthday is in december as well so for my bday he got me Lululemon workout clothes (purchased at 3 pm the day of my Bday) Great gift, but expensive and I don't need it so it got returned. For Christmas, he bought me some silver studs and some ornaments I asked for. We only did one gift since we bought a DSLR camera as our gift to each other. I wanted something to open on Christmas from him. I told him I needed new perfume( but my parents got me that) and I really wanted a prenatal massage. I think me complaining about back pai helped him to remember, but either way I am happy. This year, he is helping me to buy a new car but instead of giving me a picture of the car, he bought foam alphabet letters from BRU and wrapped up the letters H Y B R I D and made me figure it out. It took a couple minutes for me to get it.</p> <p>Last year, my friends were going on a vacation to celebrate our 30th birthdays and we decided we couldn't go. On Christmas, he wrapped a photo of the beach house and gave it to me as a way to tell me that we were going on the vacation as a present!</p> <p>He's so good! They were things I asked for so not much creativity on his part. He got me photoshop (not the bootleg versions from his work that he normally brings home the actual disc in a box, so fancy!). and the book nourishing traditions. He doesn't ask for lists and I don't tell him anything because he usually goes above and beyond. Last year, I got a kindle fire. This year, he bought me a new phone and I ended up with an iPad and a beautiful locket that he bought at he Vatican library store. I'm catholic and he isn't, so when he gets me a 'catholic' gift, I really think that's special because he is going out of his way to think of me. </p> <p>Now, me gifting him......I definitely don't think I'm as pod as a gift giver. He doesn't seem to mind, but there is no way I can out do him. Every year, without fail, he completely ignores said list, and I end up with random gifts. One year he bought me a "chair and a half' leather recliner. We'd sat in it in the store several months before, and he said all he could think about was cuddling a LO in there with us (we were TTC then). That chair gets use daily (I'm sitting in it now!)</p> <p>This year rather than the TOMS and necklace I sweetly requested he bought me new dinnerware and wine glass sets. The former because our dishes have been through the ringer lately...several have chipped or outright broken, and I'm not in love with the purple color of them anymore. I mentioned a month or two ago that I'd like a new set soonish, but I assumed we'd wait until after the holidays and go pick them out together, lol. The wine glasses are sort of a joke...we need them, but we need them because I'm notoriously bad about breaking them. So he bought like 24 so we always have some. </p> <p>He also got me a membership to a local yoga studio that has classes on Saturday mornings. He said he thought I could use an hour or two to myself, out of the house and away from LO. </p> <p>He told me he was planning on buying me an iPad but wasn't able to get to the Apple store. I think that would have been neat, but I have a new iPhone and a Kindle Fire already.</p> <p>How did your SO do? </p>
