It was cheaper and I ended up meeting the hubby later through an internship via my cousin so it all worked out. They have an extremely generous endowment (and scholarships) which meant that I finished with only around $20k in debt. The school costs around $56k a year ($224k for a 4 year degree) to give a frame of reference.</p> <p>I also met DH there. I got into all the colleges I applied to. Granted, I only applied to 4 colleges, all in my hometown area (1 state school and 3 private). I ended up going to the most expensive private school that I applied to. I got into one of the best engineering schools which just happens to be in my hometown. At the time I was obviously upset, but I cannot express how glad I am now. I ended up going to an in-state school that cost WAY less money, so I am in much less debt than I would have been. Unfortunately, I didn't follow through because I got scared in regards to education and if I would have a job after I graduated. I wouldn't have the money for loans and my family is in no position to help me if that were the case. So, I didn't finish my last two years at Stockton University. I did luck out in meeting DH, moving to his area, and getting a job at a hospital though.
