I teach elementary school, so I'm constantly around dripping noses and barking coughs. However, the one time I did manage to get sick was a doozie. I ended up with a horrendous flu around 17 weeks that knocked me off my feet. I was hospitalized for dehydration and fever towards the end of it - it was really scary! I've had a weakened immune system with chronic bronchitis since h.s. and it's always a chore to make sure I don't get sick. With my second, and like you, a toddler in daycare I was sick the WHOLE time. I had a constant cold (it seemed) and two stomach viruses. It was TERRIBLE. This is STRANGE for me, because I typically have a crap immune system, but I think all the extra vitamins (and precautions at work) have been helping. I had awful morning sickness though and was terrified of getting sick because coughing and my gag reflex would not have gone together well but I totally totally lucked out. The first tri cold was nasty and I had to call in sick for the first time in three years. My Dr. says I have two strikes against me: a weakened immune system from the pregnancy and a toddler in daycare. He says I should bounce right back after giving birth... Did your immune system bounce back?
